You will to undergo LASIK operation and get your eye vision or eye sight correction to be eligible to applyfor AMS Pre-sea training for Deck Cadets DNS - Diploma in Nautical Science leading to BSc. - Bachelor of Applied Science (Nautical) or Pre-sea training for GP Ratings – General Purpose Ratings. For more details on Lasik operations you can contact your local ophthalmologists.
The Medical Fitness & Visuals Test is conducted after you have cleared AMS Entrance (Written / Aptitude & Viva). Medical Fitness & Visual Tests needs to be certified through any Directorate General of Shipping – DG Shipping, Government of India approved doctor only. The name and addresses of the doctors can be obtained from AMS admin office.

AMS Pre-sea training for Deck Cadets DNS - Diploma in Nautical Science leading to BSc. - Bachelor of Applied Science (Nautical) or Pre-sea training for GP Ratings – General Purpose Ratings are professional programmes and are eligible for Educational Loans through all nationalised bank throughout India. On successful completion of AMS Pre-sea training program you will be issued Indian CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate) by Shipping office, Government of India. Shipping office sends CDC directly to the applicants to their respective addresses.
